2012 ASSR Mentor Awards Program

Description/Eligibility

The ASSR 2012 Mentor Award Program recognizes original spine-related research performed by fellows, residents, junior faculty (less than 5 years post-fellowship), or medical students, who are mentored by a current ASSR Active member in good standing.

A letter of support from the ASSR Active member Mentor must be sent via mail, fax, or email to:

Abstract Submisssion Deadline

Abstracts must be received no later than midnight P.S.T on Friday, December 17, 2011. When submitting an abstract for the Mentor Program, check the Mentor Award box on the abstract submission form.

Selection Process

• Members of the ASSR Mentor Committee will select up to five abstracts for presentation at the ASSR 2012 Annual Symposium. Registration fees will be waived for the presenting first authors only.
• The presenting first authors only of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place presentations, as selected by the Mentor Award Committee, will also receive a post-Symposium monetary award ($1,000, $750, $500, respectively) to help defray travel expenses.
• The presenting first author of the 1st Place presentation will be invited to present their research at the American Society of Neuroradiology 50th Annual Meeting and Foundation of the ASNR Symposium, April 21-26, 2012, at the Hilton New York Hotel, in New York, New York   The award recipient will receive an additional post-ASNR Annual Meeting cash award of $1,500 to help defray ASNR meeting registration and travel expenses if they are able to attend and present.
