Purpose
To access the accuracy and safety of the CT-guided large bore coaxial gun biopsy procedure
Methods & Materials
We performed CT-guided large bore coaxial gun biopsy from 18G up to 14G in consecutive 32 musculoskeletal lesions including 25 spinal or paraspinal lesions.
Results
The pathologic diagnosis was made successfully in all lesions; 10 inflammatory lesions, 11 primary bone tumors and 11 metastasis. The needle pass was only one in 10 lesions, 2 in 18 lesions and 3 in 4 lesions. There was no immediate complications.
Conclusion
CT-guided large bore coaxial gun biopsy is very accurate and safe procedure in the anatomically complicated musculoskletal lesions especially in the spinal lesions.
