Purpose

To demonstrate the percutaneous treatment of symptomatic lumbar synovial or juxtafacet cysts

Methods & Materials

14 consecutive patients underwent CT guided percutaneous treatment for their symptomatic lumbar synovial cysts. 7 patients were male and 7 were female with an average patient age of 67 years. 12 patients presented with back pain and unilateral lower extremity radiculopathy and 2 presented with back pain and bilateral lower extremity radiculopathy. 13 patients had their lumbar juxtafacet cysts initially diagnosed with MRI and one patient required a myelogram â
