Zee, Chi, M.D., Yuhan, Joseph, M.D., Go, John, M.D.

Purpose:
To demonstrate magnetic resonance imaging findings of parasitic diseases of the spine.

Material and Methods:
A review of our neuroimaging cases during the past 10 years revealed three types of parasitic diseases of the spine, namely, schistosomiasis, echinococcus, and cysticercosis.

Results:
Four cases of parasitic diseases of the spine are selected for presentation. Their clinical presentation and magnetic resonance imaging findings are discussed.

Conclusion:
Parasitic diseases of the spine are rare but serious conditions. Awareness of their clinical course and imaging findings are improtant to make early diagnosis and treatment planning.
