Congenital thoracic arachnoid diverticulum.Secondary Diagnosis

Arachnoid diverticula are congenital outpouchings of arachnoid membrane more often found at the level of the nerve root sleeve at the cervico-thoracic junction or thoraco-lumbar junction. Rarely, as in this case, the diverticulum occurs from congenital thinning of the posterior dura resulting in herniation of arachnoid into the epidural space. Transmission of CSF pulsation produces remodeling of the adjacent bone. In some instances, these cysts are a cause of intracranial hypotension.General Anatomic Area:
